The rise of AI is game-changing, not only for business but for society as a whole. As its rapid growth continues, however, huge challenges are emerging for everyone involved in managing the workforce.<\/p>

There are concerns on multiple fronts, from the effect on jobs and skills, to questions around how managers treat employees. Our new global survey of 715 senior executives finds that 80%<\/strong> say talent planning has never been more difficult than it is today, while 81%<\/strong> believe that AI and other disruptive tech will require companies to rethink radically the availability of skills and resources across the workforce. Executives rank digital transformation and the rise of AI among the biggest challenges for talent planning in the next two years.<\/p>

There are opportunities, too, however: AI offers transformative benefits to employers. Across many industries, it will dramatically boost productivity and help close the skills gaps that employers have struggled with for years. This will be especially significant, given that a retirement wave is set to further shrink the talent pool and create more labour shortages<\/u>.<\/p>

While there are legitimate concerns that AI will make some jobs redundant, over time, most will evolve to incorporate it. In fact, for some professionals that reality is already here \u2013 as Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., president and CEO at SHRM points out. \u201cYou could be a talented engineer, graduating at the top of your class just a few years ago from a top university, yet much of how you used to code has already disappeared. That\u2019s going to happen in more and more roles\u201d, says Taylor. \u201cIt\u2019s not that your job’s going to go away \u2013 but it will be meaningfully reconstituted.\u201d<\/p>

Moreover, the application of AI and other new technologies will create new roles. The HR services industry is already seeing huge growth in demand for digital skills needed to help organisations deploy AI. \u201cA whole new set of workers will be needed to do a lot of the data work around AI,\u201d confirms Stijn Broecke, senior economist at the OECD. \u201cAI needs to be trained, it needs to be validated, it needs to be checked. As we need more and more data, this is an area where we might need more workers, and I suspect that a lot of these will be flexible contingent workers.\u201d<\/p>

A human-centric approach is at the heart of the World Employment Confederation\u2019s (WEC) Code of Ethical Principles in the use of Artificial Intelligence<\/u>, which sets out how employers can adopt AI responsibly. It confirms that AI systems used in recruitment and employment should be beneficial to individuals and society as a whole.<\/p>

\u4ee5\u4eba\u4e3a\u672c\u7684\u7406\u5ff5\u662f\u4e16\u754c\u5c31\u4e1a\u8054\u5408\u4f1a\uff08WEC\uff09\u4f7f\u7528\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u9053\u5fb7\u5b88\u5219\u7684\u6838\u5fc3<\/u>\uff0c\u8be5\u5b88\u5219\u89c4\u5b9a\u4e86\u96c7\u4e3b\u5e94\u5982\u4f55\u8d1f\u8d23\u4efb\u5730\u4f7f\u7528\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u3002\u5b83\u786e\u8ba4\u4e86\u5728\u62db\u8058\u548c\u5c31\u4e1a\u4e2d\u4f7f\u7528\u7684\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u7cfb\u7edf\u5e94\u8be5\u6709\u76ca\u4e8e\u4e2a\u4eba\u548c\u6574\u4e2a\u793e\u4f1a\u3002<\/p>

As policymakers seek to develop the legal framework for AI, industry leadership is vital. The EU is in the vanguard via its Artificial Intelligence Act <\/u>\u2013 which categorises AI in education and vocational training, and in employment and worker management as being \u2018high-risk\u2019. While WEC argues that evaluation fails to properly acknowledge the care being invested in AI use, it recognises that the HR services industry has a key role to play in setting and living up to ethical standards.<\/p>

\u968f\u7740\u653f\u7b56\u5236\u5b9a\u8005\u5bfb\u6c42\u5f00\u53d1\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u7684\u6cd5\u5f8b\u6846\u67b6\uff0c\u884c\u4e1a\u9886\u5bfc\u529b\u5219\u81f3\u5173\u91cd\u8981\u3002\u6b27\u76df\u901a\u8fc7\u5176\u300a\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u6cd5\u6848\u300b<\/u>\u8d70\u5728\u4e86\u524d\u5217\uff0c\u8be5\u6cd5\u6848\u5c06\u6559\u80b2\u548c\u804c\u4e1a\u57f9\u8bad\u3001\u5c31\u4e1a\u548c\u5458\u5de5\u7ba1\u7406\u4e2d\u7684\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u5f52\u7c7b\u4e3a\u2018\u9ad8\u98ce\u9669\u2019\u3002\u867d\u7136WEC\u8ba4\u4e3a\uff0c\u6b64\u8bc4\u4f30\u672a\u80fd\u6b63\u786e\u8ba4\u53ef\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u4f7f\u7528\u65b9\u9762\u7684\u8f85\u52a9\u6295\u5165\uff0c\u4f46\u5b83\u627f\u8ba4\u4eba\u529b\u8d44\u6e90\u670d\u52a1\u884c\u4e1a\u5728\u5236\u5b9a\u548c\u9075\u5b88\u9053\u5fb7\u6807\u51c6\u65b9\u9762\u53d1\u6325\u7740\u5173\u952e\u4f5c\u7528\u3002<\/p>
